Venus in her retrograde territory works as follows. 

You must really work with a professional astrologer, who can pinpoint benefic aspects to make use of this transit in your own life.  It is essential to at least know where the Venus retrograde happens in your chart.  If, for example it is in your 10th house of career you might see a huge surge of energy, promotions, raises or travel connected to your professional life. 

If your Venus is in the 12th house you might be meeting a lot of karma or soulmates to help you with this work.  That is the type of exacting that can be seen in your natal chart to know how such a large sweeping transit is personally significant.

 

June 23 - October 11th, 2007 VENUS Retrograde

June 23rd Venus = 16 degrees of Leo.  (The last time Venus was Rx [2004] she reviewed from 18 LEO)

JULY 27th Venus stations and goes Retrograde at 2 Virgo

August 17th  - Venus Inferior Conjunction of Venus and the Sun 24 Leo

September 8th Venus Direct at 16 Leo

October 11th  Venus is out of review passing 2 Virgo

She goes forward until July 27 th when she appears to pause her forward motion ( RETROGRADE) at 2VIRGO ...and then her zodiacal position is calculated backwards ... so she goes back as far as 16Leo on September 8th and then she begins to move in a DIRECT relationship once again to the zodiac.  It takes her until October 11th to reach 2 Virgo once again.

The ramifications of Venus retrograde are both SOCIAL and personal.  Our romantic and financial lives may be affected by this transit, as might our reputation and social standing, as she is an archetypal significator of love, culture, art and civilization. Venus retrograde may also be a time when dissonance prevails as inner values stand in contrast to the learned cultural norms.

You may have noticed an urge in yourself to defy your usual norms.  This instinct will now play out until October.  Enjoy watching it consciously.  I encourage you to keep a diary.  You will be able to see how to connect these days with those days in the future when Venus is going back over this territory in her retrograde and then direct passage of the same zodiacal degrees.  If you can read an ephemeris then you can more deeply perceive the situation.

My Tibetan meditation teacher always told me that when we can see the synchronicity in life then our meditation level is appropriate.  These cycles are those synchronicities.  Meditation in action is also what he encouraged.
